Breathing North is a novel based on my life experience in Beijing, on smoking and human encounters. Images and text are fragments of reflection created between 2009 to 2015.

Smoking is a contradicting force: it irritates and seduces, it synchronizes and identify, it stops people talking and open conversation.

Through breathing in and breathing out, the momentarily quietness connected the people ever existed that I could not ignore.
